As I get older, I find birthdays becoming less special, at least the festivity of it. Externally nothing much changed for the past year, if anything it did changed but for the worse. I have to transfer college back to my hometown, took another gap year due to things outside of my control.
That means I also have to lose the friends I just got there, and I still barely have much friends here back home.

But also, there's still so much things to feel grateful for, outside of basic necessities that I never have to worry, this year I feel like I've been doing some hard work, some real progress internally, within my mind. While yes, I've been feeling lonely, it's something that I've been dealing with for so long I think I started to be able acknowledge it better, manage it better. It still awful, but at least I kinda know now the reason why I don't have much friends and thus being able to navigate thru it better...

Something that I've been thinking about a lot this year, something that is very huge for me is that I think I've found what I want to do in my life, I want to contribute to the animation industry in my country. That's my mission.
It all feels so sudden but not really. I've been animating for a long time, it started when I was in the 4th 5th grade I think, had some lull years but point is I've been doing it for a while. But it's only recently this year that I had an "epiphany" about this animation thing, I can see the bigger picture now. This year I started consistently making short animation and posting it on my Instagram, nothing too big, but it's enough to find my rhythm in my creative process.

Last year jumbo is out and now we got proof that Indonesia is capable to make a visually pleasing animated feature film with decent story. But something I see that is not present yet, a gap in the market as they say, is adult animation (no not that kind).
I've been really into comedic cartoons with casual conversations, something like smiling friends, home movies, some jack stauber shorts.
I kinda want to make those but localized, something that catered more towards mid20s audience. is the demand there? I'm not sure, but if theres at least one person who enjoyed my work I think I'd be content. I kinda have a rough plan in my head, right now I'm trying to make things gradually. Starting with 10 seconds abstract animations, and then 10 second animated skits with my own voice and then hopefully into making a short film and much later a webseries. And hopefully by then I could think of a plan of making animation communally.

its very exciting to be a part of something that's growing, I'm not yet in it but I'm trying to be.
